Chile’s CAP has announced a sharp drop in predicted iron ore shipments this year after revealing another delay in repairs to a key loading port.
In a statement Monday to Santiago's financial regulator, the iron and steel group said it expects to deliver 11 million-12 million mt of iron ore this year, down from 14 million mt last year.

Shipments have been slowed by the closure of the company's Guacolda 2 port in northern Chile after a fatal accident in November.
