australian fines in demand
Date:2018-12-11 09:28

Demand for Australian fines has been better recently than for mainstream fines. A major steel mill, which was a regular user of high-grade finesin blast furnaces, said that it was studying
the sintering performance of ores with lower grade ores such as Fortescue Blend Fines and Super Special fines, with mills looking to capitalize on narrowing margins by lowering production costs.

RTX fines were selling well as Jimblebar fines was getting more expensive, although both brands had high alumina content.
In the current low-margin environment, both of them are well sought after by mills as they are much cheaper than PB fines and Newman fines.
Trade at the ports was not active yesterday although the pricing level remained firm. At the northern ports, steel mills' procurement plans have been impacted due to the transportation restrictions. While at eastern ports, demand was mainly for low grade iron ore such as FMG SSF.
